How to get in the field « Thread Started on Feb 12, 2008, 3:39pm »
If I am interested in getting into the field, working at someplace like Degy, etc... what qualifications, experience are most agencies really looking for in new agents? I have worked on the college side of the industry and am interested in the agent side, but don't know what experience I may be lacking. Thanks!

Elizabeth, My first experiences were as an intern with two, then, Associate Members of NACA. I would anticipate that that still would be a great way to get your foot in the door for additional experience. I would talk with some of the agencies that know you the best and hopefully one is close to where you live so the commute would not be so bad.
The other option would be to try to find your own niche and perhaps start your own company. This is certainly harder and with much higher risk involved.
